a vessel in time

the formless story of eternity oppresses every wandering soul disillusioned by stories

eternity fails to begin when we cease to believe in beginnings

time has neither course nor direction when things desired dissolve & ends betray faith

how can I even begin to be?

lost to any finite desire in the infinitude of eternity & wandering in time with no eternal desire

all I know is that I know that I AM

I AM both the lost spirit & the wandering body

I AM the formed vessel floating above the formless confusion of silence;

I AM a rudderless ark & a confused captain agreeing to simply be

a vessel to sail & a captain to pilot

on this flat sea of eternity I find no need of beginnings & endings

for an ark will not cease to be an ark as certainly as a body will not cease to be a body

a captain will be a captain & Spirit stir spirit

hoping against hope, body & spirit agree to simply be a vessel in time
